ConMin West Africa

International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Mining and Building Material Machines
Abuja, Nigeria
The organizers IMAG GmbH and Afrocet Montgomery announce that the National Mining Summit and the co-located trade fair ConMin West Africa, both planned for September 2018, will be cancelled for the foreseeable future. The Nigerian Ministry for Mines and Steel Development as partners on the Mining Summit are not able to support the event as expected, which means the successful running of the show in September cannot be guaranteed. As Summit and Exhibition could not run without each other, the decision about the cancellation had to be taken.

At this time, the organizers cannot confirm a date for the regular continuation of the trade fair. However, a return to an annual event is planned. Nigeria stays the strongest economy in Africa and a highly promising growth market for the construction and mining industry.

ConMin West Africa provides an unparalleled opportunity to boost a company’s brand in one of the most exciting business destinations in Africa. It launched into Abuja, Nigeria, in 2017 and was very well received by those in the industry.

This event is dedicated to suppliers involved in the construction machinery, mining and building materials industry and offers a unique prospect to get an early foothold in the fast-developing West African market. Exhibiting allows companies to meet the most senior decision makers in the industry as well as showcasing their current products and solutions to clients face to face.

With a GDP of $ 405 billion Nigeria is currently the largest economy in Africa, after a slack phase the figures of importation rates and gross fixed capital formation are also rising again. The population is expected to grow by 50% until 2030. As a result, the demand for further infrastructure development will increase immensely: Projects for construction of highways, housing and hospitals are being encouraged. With a stable Government focused on developing industries outside of the oil sector, mining has been targeted as a priority for the country, which has been boosted by the exemption on customs duties for mining and construction equipment.

The next ConMin West Africa will take place from September 4 till 5, 2018 in Abuja.
