New date for international mining fair MICA
Munich, 9 August 2018 – The mining fair MICA in Algeria, actually scheduled for the end of September 2018, will be co-located with the professional trade fair Algeria Infrastructure. Both events will now take place from 28 to 30 January 2019 at the fairground Palais des Expositions in Algiers. MICA offers a platform to manufacturers and service providers from the mining sector to present for three days their products and know-how in the growth market which is Algeria.
In 2019, the third edition of MICA (Salon International des Produits et Services pour les Mines et Carrières / International Exhibition for Products and Services for Mines and Quarries) will be combined for the first time with the international trade fair Algeria Infrastructure. MICA's array of products ranges from mining machinery and equipment to bulk materials handling and earth-moving machinery along with safety equipment and facilities for recycling and recovery. In addition, visitors find at Algeria Infrastructure vehicles and equipment for the transportation of natural resources. A forum with scientific talks and discussions about the world of mining will accompany the trade fair.
In Algeria the mining industry is currently gaining in importance. The country which is rich in natural resources focuses on more economical diversification to reduce the dependency from crude oil and natural gas. The government plans corresponding investments and cooperations with partners from abroad. From 2018 on especially the exploitation of phosphate, lead and zinc is set to be intensified. Moreover, new facilities are in the process of planning to preprocess the resources of barite, diatomite and bentonite. Enormous quantities of raw materials such as sable and gravel are also required to realize the large-scale building projects planned in the infrastructure and housing sector.
International partner of MICA is IMAG GmbH, a subsidiary of Messe München. For more information and application materials for MICA 2019 please visit www.imag.de/mica.
